Challenges #18 and#19

Challenge 18 was a halloween theme. We were all so quick at getting them done I forgot to post it to my blog!  There were some great cards added, Halloween cards are fun to make. I ended up with to cards but to be honest one was made before the challenge was even started.

 First is my pre-challenge card:

Supplies:
Distress ink: Seedless Preserves, Spiced Marmalade and Black Soot
Dies: Trees (Taylored Expressions) and Ghosts (QuickKutz)
Stamps: Stars (Lawn Fawn) and Spooky (Martha Stewart)
Heat and stick powder- Stampin' Up
Glow in the Dark Glitter- Recollections

Now for the one I posted for the actual Challenge:

Supplies:
Close to My Heart: Flocked tree embellishment
Recollections: black cardstock, designed paper and glittered border piece
EK success: bat punch
misc: Rub on Happy Halloween

Challenge 19 was an Animal theme. Aquatic seemed to be very popular this time, with owls being a very close second. My card was inspired by one I saw made on youtube. I couldn't wait for the chance to try it for myself. I lucked out with this challenge because my middle son, who's birthday is coming up, loves fish. So this card is for him!

The card is an easel style so it will stand on its own.
Supplies:
Recollections: Fish stamps
Lawn Fawn: Alpha stamps
My Minds Eye: Multiple 6x6 collections
Spellbinders: Circle die
Mister Huey's Mist: Shine
Misc: Copics and sequins

Latest Challenge

 Hello again,

The latest challenge was made up from my mom. She decided to do a card in black, white and our favorite color, thought it my be a nice way to get to know a little something about each other. I chose a shade of blue, which wasn't a big surprise to many in our little group.  There is a red, pink, orange and 2 greens so far. There are 2 ladies to add to our collection still, but they have until Friday then it's on to our new challenge! Maybe I'll be on the ball and will post the new challenge so anyone can play along!

Supplies:
Close to my Heart- white/ lagoon cardstock, lagoon ink, black and white bakers twine, and stamp images
Recollections- black card base
Sentiment- Hero Arts
Misc.- Sequins

Hello Blog World!

Hello, I'm Monica and today I thought was a good day to start my own blog!

A few months ago my mom, myself and some friends decided to start our own card challenge. Every 2 weeks one of us in the group picks a challenge for us to work on. Thought it would be a fun for us to use old items, try new techniques or just to do something different. This is also about the time I starting thinking of doing a blog and sharing what we do. So on to my first card....

Today for the post I'm actually starting with Challenge #16: It is to make a Christmas card not using any of the traditional colors. So that meant no reds, greens, whites, blues, silvers or golds. The "creator" of the challenge even said I couldn't use creams!!! (Sigh) We really weren't left with any Christmas colors. I decided to use a kraft card base, emboss a silhouette Christmas tree on a distressed (purple and orange) sky back ground.

Supplies:
Kraft card base- Recollections
Black cardstock and Black embossing powder
Tim Holtz Distress ink: Spiced Marmalade and Seedless Preserves
Stamps: Tree, Greeting (Lawn Fawns Ornate Ornaments)
Bling: TPC Studio

Thanks stopping by. Feel free to play along. I love to see the different takes on the challenges!
