Planner Dashboard

Today I'm doing a different post than normal. I'm sharing a dashboard I made for my Happy planner. This is based from the planning with Michael's April project. I did a few things different form what we did at the event. You can follow this link to get the directions from Michael's.

The first thing I did was use my envelope punch board to make my envelope to the size I wanted. The paper for the envelope is 9 1/2 x 9 1/2.

After I got the envelope together. I got a second sheet of paper and cut it to measure roughly 7 1/8 x 12 inches and scored it at 1 and 5 1/8. (This would be a good time to check and make sure your dashboard will fit in the planner with the envelope)  I then cut down some more pattern paper to cover the back of my dashboard.

Once the back was covered I adhered the envelope to the 1 inch flap.

Once the envelope was on all that was left to do was add the pocket and decorate the dashboard.

I love how it turned out, I think the dark paper is my favorite and wish I had more than two sheets!

My dashboard sticks out quite a bit from my cover, but I don't really mind. If it bothers you double check the size with the envelope before adding the paper to the back. That should help make it easier to punch and make any adjustments needed.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

DCD- birthday girl and her dragon

My card today is a Birthday card for the April challenge at the Die Cut Diva's. Our sponsor this month is Fabrika Fantasy.

I colored my image with PrismaColor pencils and die cut it, before layering it with panels on the cardbase. I used some glitter pens and a white gel pen to add texture to the dragons skin in places. I finished the card off by adding the sentiment.

Here is a closer look at the texture, even though I didn't get a good shot of the sparkle.

You still have a few days to join our Birthday challenge for your chance to win, so be sure to stop by and link up!

A2Z- Congratulations

Hello and happy April Fool's Day! Not only is today the first of the month, it's my son's birthday. My mom thought I maybe I had been joking when I called to tell her he was on his way. Had I thought about it, I would have told her we were surprised with twins.... But I wasn't much in the joking mood. ;-) Can't believe he's going to be 16!!! Where did the time go...

Over at A2Z our theme is about getting to know you- Use your favorite Hero Art items. I chose to use my favorite two embossing powders ( I couldn't chose 1) and since we have a lot of pregnant ladies at church this year, I did  a baby themed card.

I first stamped and heat embossed my sentiment on some watercolor cardstock. Then I followed the same step for the baby feet up the side of the panel. Once the heat embossing was done I watercolored the panel and ran a cardstock panel through my Big Kick with an embossing folder, while it dried.

I adhered the layers on the cardbase with the top layer being adhered with foam tape.
